Gideon’s Spring (Ein Harod)

Gideon’s Spring, also known as Harod Spring, lies in the lush Jezreel Valley, approximately 26 miles (42 km) from the Mediterranean Sea and 17 miles (28 km) south of the Sea of Galilee, near the Gilboa Mountains. This location holds historical significance, particularly during the period of the Judges in Israel’s history, marked by cycles of obedience and disobedience.

The book of Judges reflects a time when people acted according to their own beliefs. God, seeking to guide Israel back to righteousness, would allow oppressors to afflict them, prompting the people to seek His help. Gideon emerged as one of the thirteen Judges appointed by God to deliver Israel from oppression, specifically from the Midianites
